So I started this blog and then got distracted by a dog with heartworm. I rescue animals, and though I have a particular soft spot for all things feline, I won’t turn away any animal in need. Her name is Slinky, she is a chihuahua mix who was found in the later stages of heartworm. Treatment is going well, she will probably be done with that next month. So that’s that.

Now back to cats. I’m going to attempt to update this more regularly. Stop in once a week or so to throw up a video or a link if I can’t think of anything else to say. I should have profiles written up for all of my psychotic cats sometime this week, and I’ll probably do a write-up on Sneak’s food trial if I am feeling inspired. For now, here’s an example of how cat training could be useful in the real world.

Gotta love this economy.

Hello world of pet training blogs. I’m new to this. Please be gentle. How about an introduction? That seems like a great place to start.

This blog is about cats. About living with them and working with them. About the good times and the bad times. About health and about training. Yes, training.

Cats have a reputation for being low maintenance, lazy, prissy, and for being untrainable. The truth is, cats are badasses. The truth is, this reputation for being impossible to train gets cats killed. I suspect that the best way to dispell these rumors is by example, so I’ve created this placeĀ  to document the progress of my own cats, to post articles and information, and generally to open discussion. You’ll get to know my three mad cats and all the cats that touch our lives, the ways they grow, the ways they learn. Hopefully, I will present this all in a way that is compelling enough to convince you to stick around.

And so it starts.

Welcome to Mad Cats.
